Whilin’ Out Entertainment was founded by Grant Harold Hicks (DJ G-Harold) over 8 years ago in Aurora. At the time, Whilin’ Out was only providing karaoke shows at a couple of bars. The company expanded to include more DJs including Tommy King (DJ The Plus Sized Model), Narvin Baboolal, and Theron Reynolds (DjT), and at that point also increased it’s footprint by establishing shows in numerous TGI Fridays, as well as bars in parker, DTC, and near DIA.
Eventually Grant retired and passed the mantle over to Theron, who continued to build the brand by adding new events including Bar Flair shows and Trivia Nights. 6 years ago, Whilin’ Out began to offer Wedding DJ services and since then the business has grown to where they’re now preferred vendors at a number of wedding venues in Colorado.
In 2015, Whilin’ Out began to add Celebrity Representation and Event Planning to it’s arsenal and now represent a number of clients including the Original Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th series, Ari Lehman, and the Killer Doll Chucky’s first and biggest target Andy Barclay, Alex Vincent.
Whilin’ Out continues to expand as they have formed relationships with AEG, AXS, iHeart Radio, Pop Culture Classroom, and a number of concert venues in both the Colorado area and nationwide. In addition to representing Celebrity clients, they also have taken on band management where they currently represent local bands The Hollow and KISS cover band, ROCKISSITY, but also celebrity band First Jason.
As the world continues to evolve, rest assured that Whilin’ Out will continue to evolve with it.

“I’ve been following Theron for a long time…I met him back in probably 2009, when he was just starting out, working with Tommy at The Urban Sombrero. From 2011-2012, he DJed for us at Vinny’s Bar and Grill, where I was a server…Karaoke nights were the best! I’d come in for his shows even if I wasn’t working! FAQ
We’ve been doing weddings for 12 years now, on average in the last 3 years we’ve done 60 a year.
Without question, obviously we know pre 2014 Justin Beiber is probably not gonna want to be played anywhere, let us know what to keep off.
We absolutely take requests if you would like that privilege at your event, only restriction is if there is no internet connection, if we don’t have the song, then we don’t have it.
Because we have multiple DJs and multiple sets of equipment, we are able to do multiple events in a single day, however, we do our best to avoid these so we can offer peace of mind to our customers.
Any event booked comes with the services of 1 DJ unless a requirement for a 2nd DJ is needed. Occasionally for training purposes a 2nd DJ may be there to shadow.
You are welcome to have complete control over the music played at your event, we traditionally only send music lists for weddings.
At events where we are providing the equipment, we do bring a small supply of backup equipment, that being said we do quality checks on our equipment every 3 weeks to protect against these problems.
While we here at Whilin’ Out have the ability to change your music request up until the day prior to your event, we typically request your official selections no less than 3 weeks prior to give us enough time to ensure we can arrange the music being used and verify it’s quality.
Absolutely, our office location is set to open Jan 2017, but until then we are able to do mobile meetings and meet at a location convenient to you.
